THE SHOULDERS WE STAND ON
The Wickenburg Art Center & Gallery starts the 2026 New Year by celebrating the past 61 years of Wickenburg art. The Shoulders We Stand On exhibit showcases artists that started the Wickenburg Art Club in 1965 and those who have been a part of the organization for 10 years or more. In addition to the fine art created and displayed by these artists, the exhibit includes historical photographs and commentary highlights, providing viewers insight into the founding and growth of the Wickenburg Art Club. The Shoulders We Stand On is open to the public from January 2nd through January 24th at the Wickenburg Art Center and Gallery, located at 188 South Tegner Street in Wickenburg.
“Issac Newton once said ‘If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants’,” notes Pamela Plummer, Executive Director of Wickenburg Art Club. “The Wickenburg Art Club today is a culmination of all the artists and art that has come together over our past 61 years. Our newest exhibit, The Shoulders We Stand on, acknowledges, celebrates and spotlights those whose artistic inspiration and efforts have made the Wickenburg Art Club the cornerstone of Wickenburg’s art scene.”
The Shoulders We Stand on opens Friday, January 2nd and runs through Saturday, January 24th. The public is invited to visit the exhibit during regular business hours, Tuesday-Saturday from 10am – 4pm and to also join the fun of an artist reception on Saturday, January 10th from 4:30pm – 6:00pm.
Wickenburg Art Club is a 501 (c)3 organization dedicated to encouraging and exhibiting creative works of art, providing a fellowship venue for artists, craft persons and friends of the arts. We serve more than 200 talented members, representing a variety of mediums, from our office, studios and gallery at 188 S. Tegner in Wickenburg, AZ.
